Richard’s extensive experiences in operational, strategic and governance roles in the education, philanthropic and local government sectors bring a range of contemporary practitioner insights to our clients. 

Richard joined Marts&Lundy in July 2022, after having spent over 35 years in Catholic systemic and independent schools in Australia as an educator, senior leader and advancement professional. Prior to joining Marts&Lundy, Richard was Director of Advancement at St Joseph’s College Hunters Hill, the largest boys boarding school in Australia, and was responsible for the College’s fundraising, marketing, communications, admissions and community relations programs. He has led several successful campaigns for major building works and scholarship programs. He was closely involved in the establishment of the College’s highly acclaimed Indigenous scholarship program, which has become a model for others in Australia. Richard has also served as Executive Director and Company Secretary of St Joseph’s College Foundation Ltd and brings a depth of experience in and understanding of governance and legal compliance requirements in the nonprofit sector. He was awarded Fellowship of Educate Plus Australia in recognition of his contribution to the advancement profession.

Richard also has significant experience in local government through a variety of roles, including Mayor, Deputy Mayor, President of a regional organisation of local governments, and Director of an insurance mutual company and an aged care services provider. In 2016, he was awarded the title of Emeritus Mayor in recognition of his service to local government. He is currently a Councillor on Hunters Hill Council in Sydney.
