Gift Planning Consultant
Meaghan brings almost 20 years of experience in advancement to her role as Consultant with Marts & Lundy. Her career has been focused in research universities, where she has led both centrally-based and school-based teams to meet and exceed fundraising goals. She possesses specialized expertise integrating fundraising teams, particularly gift planning, with principal, major, and annual giving to maximize philanthropy.
Meaghan most recently served as Vice Dean for Institutional Advancement at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she led her team in a $130M campaign. Prior to that, she served as Associate Vice President of Development at Temple University in Philadelphia. In that role she tripled principal gifts, more than quadrupled annual fundraising for the College of Liberal Arts, and played a key role in securing Temple University’s first Keck Foundation grant.
In a previous role at Temple, Meaghan led the Gift Planning department at Temple University, increasing the legacy society membership by more than 30% in one fiscal year. She also worked for seven years at the University of Pennsylvania, first as Director of Gift Planning and then as a major gifts and gift planning officer for Penn’s School of Arts and Sciences. Outside of higher education, Meaghan led the Philanthropic Planning Practice at PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., where she assisted high-net worth clients in financial and philanthropic decision-making. She transitioned into development following a career in tax and estate planning in Atlanta, GA.
Meaghan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Vassar College; her Juris Doctor from Emory University; and her Master of Laws in Taxation from Temple University.
