Jim Zimmerman joined Marts & Lundy in 2016 as a Senior Consultant, bringing with him more than three decades of experience in advancement.

His work with dozens of independent schools and other organizations includes advancement assessments, campaign planning and feasibility studies, trustee and staff training, and strategic fundraising counsel.  Prior to Marts & Lundy, Jim’s passion for connecting nonprofits to donors led him to EverTrue, where he served as Chief Evangelist. While at EverTrue, Jim helped hundreds of organizations understand how technology and innovation can transform their fundraising programs.

From 1993 to 2011, Jim served as Director of Development at Middlesex School in Concord, MA, where he managed the then largest independent school campaign in history which raised $127 million.  Jim’s development career includes leadership roles at Francis Parker School (San Diego, CA) where he was Assistant Head for Institutional Advancement, and at Cate School, (Carpinteria, CA) where he served as Director of Development. Previously, he was the Director of Capital Programs at The Lawrenceville School (Lawrenceville, NJ). Jim began his development career at his alma mater, Bucknell University. He later served as the president of the Bucknell University Alumni Association from 1998-2002.
