Professional Experience

John joined Marts & Lundy in 1999 as a senior consultant with twenty years of development experience, including eleven years of advancement work at the vice presidential level. From 1991-1999, he was vice president for college relations at Utica College of Syracuse University where he headed the most successful capital campaign in the college's history. Before his tenure at Utica, he was vice president for institutional advancement at D'Youville College in Buffalo supervising fund-raising and alumni relations. John also brought experience in fund-raising for the arts to the firm, having been associate director of development for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, VA, from 1985-1988. Prior to that, he was the director of sponsored programs for the University of Richmond from 1982-1985.

Active in professional organizations and in his community, John served as president and a trustee of the Utica Public Library and the Mid-York Library System and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Utica for many years.
