Jim joined Marts & Lundy in July 2016 as a Senior Consultant, bringing with him more than three decades of experience in advancement.
Most recently Jim’s passion for connecting nonprofits to donors led him to EverTrue, where he has served as Chief Evangelist since 2013. While at EverTrue, Jim has helped hundreds of organizations understand how technology and innovation can transform their fundraising programs. His frontline experience in capital campaigns, annual giving and as a leader of development programs allows him to form strategies that align operations and technology for exceptional results.
From 1993-2011, Jim served as Director of Development at Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts, where he managed the then largest independent school campaign in history. The Campaign of a Century raised more than $127 million.
Since 2005 Jim has also served as a consultant to a limited number of clients as a Principal with Coughlin-Zimmerman Associates, working closely with Chief Advancement Officers, Heads of School and key trustees in maximizing philanthropic support.
Jim’s development career includes leadership roles at Francis Parker School (San Diego, California) where he was Head of Institutional Advancement from 2011-2013, and Cate School, (Carpinteria, California) where he served as Director of Development from 1989-1993. Prior to his tenure at Cate, Jim was the Director of Annual Giving and later Director of Capital Programs at The Lawrenceville School (Lawrenceville, NJ). Jim began his career as Assistant Director of Annual Giving at his alma mater, Bucknell University. He served for four years as the president of the Bucknell University Alumni Association from 1998-2002.
