Campaign Workshop for Heads of Schools

When: Wednesday, February 24, 2010 – 9 am – Noon
Where: San Francisco Marriott, 55 Fourth Street, San Francisco
Who: Fellow school heads and three Marts & Lundy veterans: senior consultants Sandy Drew and Martha Keates, and Taylor Stockdale - Of Counsel.

Your First Capital Campaign — How to Succeed on the Campaign Trail

School Heads learn quickly that, soon into their tenures, trustees begin the drum beat for a campaign to fund a new or ongoing initiative.
How do you prepare for this role? In fact, what is your role? And what are the roles of the board, the board chair, and the chief development officer?

Even for the veteran Head, this can be a challenging discussion, involving a number of factors related to timing, resources, and vision. How do you prepare? How do you manage the board’s expectations? How do you anticipate costs? How do you determine the campaign’s featured priorities? And how do you continue to lead your institution while spending up to 50% of your time on fundraising, finance and governance issues?

These are just some of the issues that will be addressed in this workshop of candid and open discussion immediately preceding the annual NAIS Conference.

How Much: $150 per person ($100 per person if more than 3 people per school)

SPACE IS LIMITED. To register, online, click here. To register by mail, reply to this email and request a registration form by return email.
