Professional Experience
Dick joined Marts & Lundy in 1979 following several years in college administration and public relations/ communications. His early work with the firm focused on campaign communications and feasibility studies. He directed his first capital campaign in 1982 and since that time has been involved in numerous campaigns ranging from $2 million to over $100 million at independent schools, colleges, seminaries, museums, and other institutions across the United States. His expertise encompasses all aspects of fundraising consulting.
Dick served as a member of the firm's Board of Directors from 1988 through 2006. He was named vice president of the firm in 1989, served as corporate secretary of the firm from 1994 to 1999 and 2005 to 2006, and as corporate treasurer and from 1999 to 2005. He serves as vice president for client services.
Dick is a member of the firm’s management team and is chair of theGiving USA Foundation which publishes Giving USA. He is a past member of The Advisory Council on Methodology for Giving USA and he has served as executive editor of COUNSEL, Marts & Lundy’s quarterly newsletter which focuses on current issues in American philanthropy.
