Professional Experience

Tom has almost 40 years of experience in higher education and the non-profit sector, serving educational institutions as a dean, professor, vice president, trustee, and now, a consultant. Prior to joining Marts & Lundy, Tom served as Vice President for Institute Relations at the California Institute of Technology. Earlier in this career, he was Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Case Western Reserve University, where he taught constitutional law with an emphasis on civil liberties.

He currently holds appointments at Case Western Reserve University as Ethics Fellow at The Center for Professional Ethics and as Senior Lecturer at the Weatherhead School of Management, where he teaches Social Ethics in a doctoral program. His teaching interests include social ethics, applied ethics, and ethics and leadership.

Tom is a member of the Board of Trustees at Iowa Wesleyan College, where he serves on the Executive Committee and chairs The Committee on Trustees. He also serves on the Board of Trustees at Seabury Western Theological Seminary and on the Leadership Council of the Harvard Divinity School.
